An outing for railway enthusiasts
July 2 @ 2:30 pm - 4:00 pm
Joël Le Guen worked as a volunteer to revive the local railway in central Brittany. Between 1978 and 1979 a steam train ran between Mur de Bretagne and Caurel , unfortunately it didn’t get enough support from the local authorities and the English owner, Vries Ellerton took his engines and tracks back to the UK.
As soon as M. Labetoulle acquired the railway in Gouarec he asked Joël for help. In turn Joël asked AIKB to organize a conference where he recruited many volunteers. Now Joël has stepped back
but his passion is intact. In his garden he has laid tracks (7”1/4), and, although he has sold his steam engine 020T, his Berkshire 778 is still visible, although it isn’t currently in use. He can still run his “little green job” an electric tracted locomotive and share endless rail stories. His wife Annick, has invited us for tea to conclude this friendly outing.
Meet at 2.30pm at 3 Kerguestenen , 56240 Plouay
Contribution 2€ for AIKB.
