I’ve just come across  soapnuts for washing and at first they sounded too good to be true if you’re  an eco friendly type person that is untill I read that “They have Anti-fungal and Anti- microbial activity”

would this mean that they cant be used in a Fosse septique?

I’m sure there is an expert on fosses on here who would know,

info on soapnuts can be found here

    TIA

Well they sound really fascinating as far as their use is concerned itralS, can’t help you with the fosse septique question as such but it does state that they are 100% biodegradable

You will probably be ok but it may be better to try a small quantity as a tester first Natural vegetable based liquid detergents are widely available in France from supermarkets We always use them and have never had a problem

Thanks Officer C    it does say “Mild” anti bacterial  so I think it’ll be ok but I thought I’d  ask on here, someone always knows better  :good: I dont think  vegetable based detergents are the same thing as these nuts .  these dont seem to be a detergent at all , but as you suggest I will test a  few washes first to see it it kills the fosse
