Hi all, sorry my posts are intermittent at the moment, for those who are unaware Mr F was rushed into Urgences Saturday evening, he had been unwell for several days, been to the GP, had a blood test, had an ultrasound scan. we were due to return to the GP Monday morning but he became really ill on Saturday, so I called it in.
He has what is called heart failure, he said he thought he was going to die, doesn’t remember anything about Saturday, apart from that, and not much more on Sunday. He is a lot better now, still in hospital while the cardiologist gets the balance of the medication right, yesterday’s blood test wasn’t good so he will have another tomorrow.
The reason my visits to the site are intermittent is because, in between hospital visits, I am trying to get as much of the manual labour work done as possible before he comes home. (It frsutrates him that he can’t do it and doesn’t make him feel good seeing me do so) I have a ton of gravel coming tomorrow and now I’ve finished my cup of tea am just off out to prepare the ground for it.
Thank you very much for your concern. I will catch up with all the posts eventually
Anonymous14th July 2021 at 5:03 pm #555028Oh Fruitcake I hadn’t realised any of this! I was recently hospitalised for 4 days with exactly the same thing! It’s very frightening!
The term Heart failure sounds very scary but they got mine stabilised with meds very quickly and I could go home so hope the same thing happens with Mr F and the cause is diagnosed quickly. Mine turned out to be due to a leaky mitrial valve and was quite severe by the time I went into hospital. I had been putting the symptoms down to asthma and was struggling on, silly me. Now on a cocktail of heart meds.
Anyway enough about me, all my best wishes to you both. I’m here if you want to chat by pm or anything xxx
France has first class cardiologists.
I believe that from personal experience. I’m here as living proof. In fact I have found the entire healthcare system wonderful.
FC’s testimony shows this – “been to the GP, had a blood test, had an ultrasound scan. . . due to return to the GP Monday morning”.
How many people in the UK could have that much attention in such a short time?
We should have a separate thread devoted to people’s experiences, but let’s keep this one on topic. No doubt FC will update us when she has time.

Happy to post that a close friend of mine here in the UK had a heart episode while delivering a kettle bell session, he’s a PT, after a lifetime as an engineer in the RAF.
Ambulance arrived in 10 mins. One hour later had been seen by a cardiac consultant. Tested in every conceivable way and the next day discovered he has a very rare heart condition, which after a lifetime of top fitness came as quite a shock.
His care has been 1st class. The NHS can and does deliver.
