I want to make some Kefir water, tried with the dried grains but they did not work. Wonder if anyone is using it and has some fresh grains to spare please?

Thanks @slartibartfast, sounds like your doggy needs them more! I have to go back to UK soon so can try and get some then but not sure how well the live ones travel.  Does your OH bring the live ones back or start them once home?

that is the second jar  of the stuff we started with a week ago

and to be honest I tried the stuff and almost threw up as it tasted like sick,

I’m sure it does you good but its not something I’m going to eat /drink  unless I have to

good luck to anyone that does though   :good:

Wow!!! I used the dried ones and soaked them and they just sat in the bottom of the jar doing nothing    I am looking forward to trying again.

Is that the milk version? I want the water ones, I think they mix better with other things and therefore you cannot taste them.

CAWAS they are a probiotic so full of goodies for your tummy and immune system. Once you have a starter you “feed” them and they grow and take over the world as Slarti’s jar above!

Thanks WP but don’t think that anything that tastes of sick can be a good idea for me. I could be wrong, 40 odd years ago I drank so much beer and brandy that I was sick and now I enjoy both in small quantities. Is this similar?

My grandad swore by a glass of port & brandy mixed if he had an upset stomach.  Said the alcohol killed the bad bugs.  :-)
