@Hugh Jarse is leaving for the UK today and just discovered that they cannot fit everything in the car. There are 6 large vacuum bags and a coffee maker. If anyone is going from Dinan area to Plymouth/Cornwall and willing to collect these then please get in touch. Thanks! :good:

It’s all those cases of Merlot taking up the space!   :-)

    (Hope someone can help)

Sounds a bit like us HJ, couldn’t get a fag paper in the car after we had finished packing ready for the same journey as you, I even had a bag on my knee!!! Thank god the customs at Roscoff didn’t ask us to unpack the car for inspection. Luckily for the cat we made a second trip for signing at the Notaire’s office, so the cat had the luxury of two cages linked together, a bedroom with  ensuite facilities!😸😸

Ah so much fun! When we came over the men at customs opened the back door on the van, looked horrified and very impatiently waved us through!  Was very worried because I thought we had to write down everything we were bringing in! I had forgotten so it was a big gamble! :rose:   :yahoo:

A very emotional last day in Dinan!

Thanks Witchy for posting this for us, but……..

I took an executive decision and put Jack on my lap, that freed up so much space we managed to fit it all in! Jack slept solidly for the three and a half hour journey, would have been quicker but we were loaded!

Customs were fab, came to my window he looked at Jack and said…”does he bite”?

Only love bites and kisses said moi,  he looked into the car and with an expression of pure…Fekk that, blew kisses to Jack and wished us Bon voyage!

We are now having dinner and a bottle of rouge, and very excited that we will be in Cornwall for lunch!

Thanks again for trying to help, thankfully not needed and more importantly,

thank you all for your wonderful messages!

As our friends said today..not au revoir but adieu!  :rose:   :rose:

I bet Jack was very happy with that executive decision! I was going to suggest that you and Mr Jarse wear all the clothes in the bags to save space.  Glad you got everything in, bit of a dilemma that, knickers or wine, knickers or wine

Have a comfy crossing and a lovely lunch tomorrow    :rose:

So pleased it all went smoothly HJ. I bet Jack was most pleased to have a warm lap to sleep on! Your customs man reminded me of when we came over with our four dogs, our one in Dover looked in the window, our doberman cross growled & bared her teeth at him and he said “Yup there’s definitely 4 dogs in there, have a safe trip”! Jack is such a little sweetie he probably just melted your custom man’s heart, bless him.

Enjoy your 1st day of your new life in Cornwall! Don’t forget to keep us up to date with all your news once you’re settled. :rose:
