I answered that question ShapeShifter , so long as each person has a valid reason to travel as shown on their Attestation , it doesn’t matter how many are in the car so long of course they are from the same family or living space. Be a bit stupid to isolate youself and then travel in the same car as the neighbours.

I got the ‘one person per car’ thing from the Le Monde live feed.  People can ask questions about various things, which they will then research and answer.

One thing that has stood out and been consistent is that anyone going out should do so alone, unless unavoidable (e.g. dropping off children at another parent’s house).

It doesn’t make sense, though, of course!   If my wife is contagious and I am allowed to live with her, I will either catch it or be a carrier, so alone I pose as great a risk in the shop as the two of us together.

My understanding is that an asymptomatic carrier poses less of a threat than someone with symptoms. If that’s the case then surely a person with symptoms + a carrier would pose a greater risk  than a solitary carrier, or indeed a solitary person with symptoms. In any case anyone with obvious symptoms shouldn’t be out shopping.

I hope I never have symptoms of the virus , if I had , I don’t think I would go anywhere.

I had to instruct our German neighbour to stay away this morning , he said ” people were taking it too seriously” He just drove up to our house , was pissed off and drove away again in a huff . One German less to worry about! :-)

My OH and I both suffer from chronic arthritis in the hips, knees and spine.  We both used to go the supermarket together and have a trolley each.  It obviously means we could do the shopping in half the time and limit the time we needed to be standing.  This was explained to the gendarmes but the answer was still NON.  However, for the second day running our French neighbours have gone out in their car together.    :-(

Ah yes , but your French neighbours didn’t call the gendarmes to ask what they were supposed to do , so interpret what they get from the government the way that they want to. :-)

Exactly Deboer.  Last year they interpreted the law that there were to be no bonfires at all, not to include them and proceeded to have several, and walking away leaving them to burn on their own, in the height of the hot weather!

Nope , and not all stupidity is British .

There are various nationalities in the village , Dutch family from Rotterdam just arrived in their second house , probably drove at night so as not to be seen ( they usually do that anyway) They must be happy now that no one bought the house that has been on the market for a while !

Beware, there is now a new attestation form which requires the time of your departure as well as the date. An extra reason to fine you for non compliance.
