Sleet, hailstones, rain, very windy, very cold , wind chill of minus 2 feels like minus 4, slight dusting of snow. What will tonight bring?   ☃️❄️

    Winter draws on…..

Sometimes I wish I had a pair, Pete, but I’ve discovered in my time that a pair of tights can be just as effective.

Probably teaching your granny to suck eggs but it’s ten times easier if you cover the windscreen the night before….

The problem is what do you cover it with? If cardboard, you take it off in the morning and a short time later you’ve got a soggy lump of cardboard; if a sheet of plastic, you’ve got cold, wet plastic to store somewhere.

Down to 5° already, time to park the car nose in to the barn now, offers a bit more protection from these freezing conditions.

I used to wear ladies tight when fishing from the beach during the colder months.

The best thing to use is an old blanket, it comes off easily and dries out during the day ready for use quicky after.

Last and only time I wore tights, was going through the Canal du Midi in winter, first Wife was along, Her suggestion, surprisingly warm, suppose my hairy legs created a gap, like double glazing :yahoo:

-4 here this morning, heavens knows what it’s going to be tonight. Told the mussus to leave the handbrake off and leave it in gear. last year we couldn’t get her to work coz the  handbrake said ‘no’! Cardbaord, newspaper or sheets on the windscreen tonight as well I think. And it’s still only November>….just! As Victor said, “I don’t believe it” Also think I am going to have to get some more wood in. eeck

Had to go up in the grenier and hunt through the many boxes still to be looked at, let alone unpacked, to find the winter clothing, coats, hats & glove boxes!
