Just something which you may not be aware of.

In Guemene-sur-Scorff opposite  Le Banjo Bar, is what in French is called ‘Une boîte à livres’, which is a small green and white cabin style kiosk placed nearby the pavement and in which books are placed by members of  the public and for the public to take and read free of charge. Evidently  the front of the kiosk is steamed over today and it is not too apparent  to all, but one can take any unwanted books and place  them there for anyone else to take and read and also to look through and take away to read for your own pleasure.

Mrs G just stopped by and took away two novels, in English, which pleased her very much.

If one is looking to dispose of any unwanted books, then it would be much appreciated by members of the public.

I believe there is the same on the square, Place du Martray in Pontivy, and possibly elsewhere.

Quite common down these parts G.

Many old France Telecom phonebooths have been revamped to make small book depots for example.

Sorry G, forgot you were in the back of beyond !!

Actually it’s interesting to see how some of the communes have adapted buildings etc into book depots. I’ll send some photos when i’m out and about.
