Well I am going to get steaming drunk, crash my car, loose my licence and book myself into a clinic for the rest of the year and see if I get an award.

What an example to set, a lot of youngsters look up to this pair of jokers. Unbelievable

I agree John P. What a message to send out to today’s kids, that this kind of behaviour is not only acceptable but normal. Very, very sad. He should have said thank you but I really cannot accept it.

I cannot see anything entertaining about these two. Certainly the drunkard is setting a very bad example to the youth of today.

Well I thought it was just me, as they have won this award for 18 years.

To me they are a pair of overgrown school kids with a childish sense of humour and zero talent. I don’t find them funny at all and why are they paid a fortune to be on BGT, all they do is see competetors on and off the stage, fool around and make stupid comments. A pair of stage hands could do that with a lot more professionalsm.

One thing in their favour last year was I only had to tolerate one of them. :-)

You all have your points of view but the bottom line is that the British public voted for them to win. Maybe the older one gets the less able one is to like the young comedians/entertainers?

Never watch anything they are in.

On the bright side Paul O’Grade won his award for the Love of Dogs.My stomach wasnt strong enough to watch the awards.

He should have said thank you but I really cannot accept it.

    He did say, Marie:

“Thank you, this is a genuine shock, especially this year – I’m shaking … I really don’t feel like I can accept this award this year …”, according to this article from the BBC.

Yes he did VK and he also went on to say that it was all down to Dec that he received the award.

Just another example of why asking the British public to vote for anything is such a bad idea

    24th January 2019 at 9:41 am #450979

Didn’t watch it but reading all the postings it would seem that perhaps it should only have been Dec nominated, as his partner in crime (pardon the pun) wasn’t doing any presenting anyway. I’m often amazed at the results of some of the public votes. David Walliams for example, although a talented writer, in my opinion, is very annoying as a judge but was voted the best, perhaps as is the case in some other public votes, it is not so much a case of him being the best, more a case of him not being as bad as the rest?

Why do you feel the need to mention Ray in nearly all your posts? We hardly ever heard from you in the past, just a thought. And then you tell me not to get too anti Ray and then put up emojis, are you trolling me to get a reaction, we had enough of this before? As for Brexit, well it takes a huge amount of strange imagination to compare a countries future to a TV comedy award, The only comedy is how you and VK somehow see it as equal footing. Now that is truly bizarre at best, it really is.

I think there are worse role models for kids, than Ant and Dec.The whole awards thing is totally tacky anyhow, just an excuse for over inflated egos to be massaged ,and over inflated  breasts and lips to be on show.Bad behavior, bad dress sense, just bad really!!

My reply to Anne was tongue in cheek, Roger, as was, I think, her post. Of course you can’t compare the two, one is just a lot of hot air and puffed up grandstanding and the other involves TV programmes.
