The official French site for CDS online applications has been shut down.  This message has been posted.

The website “ONLINE PROCEDURE TO REQUEST A RESIDENCE PERMIT FOR BRITISH CITIZENS RESIDING IN FRANCE BEFORE THE UNITED KINGDOM’S WITHDRAWAL DATE FROM THE EUROPEAN UNION” opened in the event of a no-deal Brexit which has been ruled out is now closed.

The French Ministry of Interior is launching its update in order to remain within the framework of the United Kingdom’s withdrawal agreement from the European Union which was eventually reached and ratified by both parties.

The provisions of the withdrawal agreement are applicable to British citizens and their family members already residing or planning to reside in France before 31 December, 2020.

Although the United Kingdom’s withdrawal from the EU is effectively starting from 1 February 2020, the withdrawal agreement provides for a transition period until 31 December 2020, during which all British citizens will keep the rights they acquired as EU citizens.

Pursuant to the withdrawal agreement, the British citizens residing in France will be issued specific residence permits “United Kingdom’s withdrawal agreement from the EU” for which they will have to apply before 1 July, 2021. British citizens residing in France will not be required to hold a residence permit until 1 July, 2021.

For this purpose, a new website adapted to the provisions of the withdrawal agreement will be opened in anticipation early July 2020.

If you are a British citizen or a family member of a British citizen and you have already applied for a residence permit on the no-deal Brexit website, you do not need to make another online application. Your application has been taken into account and will be processed by the local prefecture before the obligation to hold a residence permit becomes enforceable.

Shouldn’t have been launched in the first place; massively premature.

What I was wondering is what will be the impact of the UK been outside the SEPA zone, regarding bank fees on transfert received. It was free while it was in the EU, but if I look on the bank tarifs, paiement received outside SEPA zone, it said 10€ for less than 250€ and 16.35€ for more than 250€. That is to say 198€ a year for receiving UK pension monthly :-(

I believe the UK is remaining in SEPA.  This was requested by Theresa May and granted.

Not really, with nothing better to do we put our applications in online a while back, along with photos of our existing T de S and as it says, we have no more to do and will be treated as is.

Sorry to break it to you but the UK left the EU on Friday.

Fortunately it was with a deal.

Yes,i was aware that the UK had left the EU last Friday,i wasn,t aware that all the negotiations for citizen,s rights etc were all agreed and done and dusted,so all us expats living in France have nothing to worry about, that,s great news.

Yes the citizens’ rights “bit” is law now.

The French government will be announcing more about applying for a card in July.

The only “no deal” on offer now is more accurately a “no trade deal”, which has nothing to do with citizens’ rights.

Great news,so all the health care agreements for us here in France,i.e. we continue as we are at the moment are all done and dusted.

Broadly, yes.   Retirees have the simplest outcome; nothing changes.  S1 forms remain valid for all pensioners residence before 31 December for life, as does pension uprating.  In short that covers healthcare and income so residency is all but assured, even if you’ve been in France fewer than five years.

Details for workers are yet to be revealed (from July) but should be equally simple (i.e. an employment contract or proof of self employment along with a carte vitale etc).

We received this letter  morning which some other friends also received. So basically what was originally posted by, Shapeshifter.

    Madame, Monsieur,
