So far we have wasted nearly three hours trying to register a change of address on a Carte Grise. Supposedly easy. Open an account with ANTS site and go from there filling out forms. They don’t work when using a website translator so doing it the hard way (cut and paste) it is still a headache. In the end we gave up and looking forward to throwing €30 at one of the agencies that offer the service. They will certainly be earning their fee.
Just wondering…….would AIKB be any good at sorting this out? A bit of a trek for us to get there but the diesel might work out cheaper than €30.
Anonymous7th August 2018 at 12:42 pm #400857Yes they would, definitely, but you have to be a member to get help (35€ a year, per household). Well worth it though, they have been amazing with us
You don’t have to use the ANTS website. There are authorised “agents” all over France that will do carte grise business for a fee of about €40.
This company isn’t the only one but has an easy website and they have 1200 agents all over france.

Anonymous8th August 2018 at 1:14 pm #401084Is your registration no the old style one with the dept no on the end? If so the website can’t handle it as we found out recently as it needs to be re-immatriculated first. Thoroughly recommend Cartaplac too who must be making a killing at the moment since the ANTS website went live.
Thanks for that. There is an agent of theirs in Guingamp that charges about €30 for carte grise paperwork. It seems funny that the ANTS site is such crap and usually not working for mere mortals when a private concern can get the job done for a fee.
It’s worth it not to have to put up with the timewasting, unhelpful, miserable prefectoral experience.
Update
The OH battled on with the ANTS website for her change of address.
I went to Guingamp on Tuesday to register a change of ownership for my new vehicle and paid the €30 to an agent of Cartaplac.
Both documents arrived this morning. The change of address took 7 days via the website and the change of ownership via an intermediary took less than 3 days.
Isn’t technology wonderful………………………
