With thanks to Fruitcake, this is why you shouldn’t do it. For the temperatures, 100°F is 38°C, 110 is 43 and 120 is 49.
Thanks for posting on here VK, I still don’t know how to transfer from FB to here. I still panic when I see dogs shut in cars, albeit with windows open a bit, some people just don’t appreciate the heat that a car can generate. I have had owners called over the speaker system in a supermarket before to come and get the poor dog out of the car!
(I might add the same goes for children, read an horrific story once about a baby left in a car- but too horrific to repeat
)
Personally I’d break a window if there was a case of absolute distress.
Fruitcake, I didn’t copy it from FB, I googled “Vet locks himself in car” and found the youtube version.
Oh I think you’ve told me before to do that VK (memory’s going!) Oh I definitely would do the same in those circumstances, when I got the people out of the supermarket it hadn’t got to that stage – I didn’t want it to!
In the UK you have to get the OK from a policeman to do that, I understand , otherwise you may leave yourself wide open for damages to the car! But I would do it anyway!
First find a policeman! You’re less likely to be charged for criminal damage by the police than the guilty party is likely to be charged for endangering the safety of an animal by the RSPCA.
The idea of leaving an animal or child in a hot car fills me with anger and i would telephone the gendarmes immediately or in dire circumstances break the window! The idea enrages me!
