    Came across the following :-

Message from the Minister Stéphane TRAVERT

Bar fishing is permitted from October 1 to December 31, 2018 at a rate of 1 bar per day and per angler and a size equal to or greater than 42 cm (see below).

    Dear all,
the European Council adopted yesterday, without debate, the text allowing the
recreational fishing of a bar per day and per person in the stock
north. As expected, this will therefore be applicable from 1 October to
    31.12.2018.

A press release from Minister StéphanE Travert will be published today.

    Sincerely,

    Amélie Le Floch
Head of Office Assistant Stéphane TRAVERT
    Parliamentary Advisor to the Minister

Does this mean you are now allowed to catch a 42cm fish and then go for a drink in the bar?

I’ve looked it up and I think the fish they refer to as a Bar is a European bass (Dicentrarchus labrax). There goes an excuse for going to the bar
