Reuters quoting the daily telegraph quoting not revealed sources , it’s called a rumour without proof .
16th July 2021 at 9:34 am #555141People are so stressed out about these continuing changes, the last thing they need is another rumour.A clear and coherant policy would be nice (such as the UK stance on wearing masks from this coming Monday…..!!)
16th July 2021 at 9:37 am #555142About par for the course – seeing as the Telegraph hates everything about Europe and France in particular and the UK has pushing on for 50,000 new cases a day and France 2600.
The trouble is that too many pinches of salt cause high blood pressure.
If true then its going to be a bugger for me to get back later this year !!! However, as with all travel at the moment we must be aware that the rules and regs can change at any moment and be prudent in the making of our travel plans and be sure that we can financially look after ourselves if we get stuck somewhere.
There is so much mis-information doing the rounds that I only trust what is on the official government sites at the time of travel, oh, and what I read on united in Brittany bien sur
Wishing you all a great weekend xxxx
16th July 2021 at 10:43 am #555157They are saying it is due to the increase of the Beta variant. I thought it was the Delta variant which was a concern here
Makes perfect sense doesn’t it. Now that boris the imbecile has allowed the johnson variant to spread all over the UK he will ban people visiting somewhere that has a fraction of the daily infections of the UK. He must be protecting the people of France…..how thoughtful!
Would like to know where the UK Government ministers are getting their information from, there has been no official reports from any medical source in France about this Beta variant rise.Looks like it is yet another one of the UK,s right wing/gov media,s peevish party politics games that they have been playing since Brexit.
Have said before that I do not follow politics though I have come to the conclusion that bojo and macron are not best friends and a pissing contest is in full swing !!
Wales is certainly a better place to be than England at the moment, albeit I went on a twenty mile walk of the local pembrokeshire coast a couple of days ago and all car parks that I passed by on my stroll were full to capacity and I heard very few welsh accents. The local enterprises were doing a good job with their policing of customers and I did hear a couple of people getting well dressed down as they stepped inside a pub door with no masks on.
Most people appeared to be good with social distancing however which was good to see
Paul said, “People are so stressed out about these continuing changes, the last thing they need is another rumour.A clear and coherant policy would be nice (such as the UK stance on wearing masks from this coming Monday…..!!)”
What will the next variant be called? – but did we not know this would be an ever-lasting circle of stress and fear? – So glad I do not need to travel anymore, so feel for those that do! So many children really emotionally upset with parents at their wits end, I see no end to this! i have never worn a mask – well many here don’t and have never ever done so. We have mask exempt cards here and they have been helpful to many.
16th July 2021 at 10:28 pm #555237Message of a friend who should I’ve been back for two weeks to his secondary house in France next week :
“The UK has now announced that anyone returning from France must quarantine, vaccinated or not.”
Edit : sorry Marmite, that was just what you wrote before
