Well done to this Welsh lad! Winner of the Tour de France providing he isn’t fouled or something tomorrow. First Welshman to win the competition. Once again well done lad!

I have no interest in any kind of sport as probably regular posters on here will know, and given the feedback from the last few years I cannot help but think what untraceble illegal substances has he been taking?

I suppose we will have to wait and see

Isn’t it sad JP that the sporting world has been so tainted by illegal substance use that your first thought was if the winner of the TDF had been taking such just because he won. I’m sure there are very many sportsmen and women that can win out of sheer merit without the additional help from an illegal substance and it’s very sad that those that succumb to such substances lessen the glory of those that don’t by giving people doubts such as those that you have voiced.  :-(

It is indeed sad that I think that way but given all the cases of positive drug tests throughout the world of cycling and the olympics etc over the last decades one becomes cynical and sadly until the various bodies get to grips and clean up their acts, all athletes will be plagued by the shadow of those who choose to cheat.

Incidently I was not making an acusation, just commenting on my thoughts and those of many I should imagine. I have no reason to think this win was not genuine other than cinicism created by previous outcomes.

You make a valid point BE, I am sorry if you think I am accusing, that was not my intention but I cannot modify my posting now.

It is a shame, that these days everything you see and hear, leaves a doubt as to whether it is genuine, extremely well-paid and talented sportsman feel the need to cheat, I suppose all sports are now tainted by huge amounts of money, why people ever feel the necessity to take drug I will never know, well done Wales.
