If I was Breadhead’s  wife I’d always make sure the toilet bowl light was switched on before going to bed. How’s that rate as being a good wife?

Well I serve and wait on Mr. F. all the time, my choice, but I’m blowed if I’m waiting until he’s eaten to eat my meal  ;-)

On a serious note, if Mr. F. EXPECTED me to serve and wait on him then that would be an entirely different matter – he’d wait a long time!!

Not so much good tigre, but practical I’d say – best to avoid spillages if possible I’d say!

Like you fruity I serve and wait on Mrs BH all the time, it’s not that she expects or demands it, it’s just a case that I have more time to carry out household tasks such as cooking cleaning etc.  Not only that, I enjoy looking after her and get great pleasure from seeing others enjoy my food.

Same as Fruitcake, because I want to!  Not because I have to!   I think possibley,  & I hope I’m not  putting my size 6 shoes in it, that maybe some of us are perhaps joining Gypsies and Travellers as one group, when obviously they are not!   :rose:

gosh Breadhead!  My admiration knows no bounds, and the housework too!

As long as you don’t involve the whirly line in any way tigre!

I’m with you BH as far as the food side is concerned and looking after Mr. F. but, as for the household tasks it’s not that I have more time but I’m afraid it’s more (I’m going to be very honest here) that my way is the right way – there I’ve said it -sorry!

BV I think Babeth gave some good information about the differences and no, travellers are not the same as gypsies, as you say.

Certainly isn’t B, she works long hard hours as a teacher and it doesn’t stop when she gets home, she does do her bit around the house I don’t do it all, she does occasionally pick up a duster  no seriously she does all the washing ironing etc, changes the beds, cleans the bathrooms so she does her wack when time allows.  We are a good partnership and work well together.

Jazzy, slightly confused by your comment.

I do all the shopping, cooking and fix’n’mending of stuff, ‘cos I like it and am a bit better at it.
But not allowed to clean, apparently I am just not up to hoovering standards by a long shot.
My ironing attempts mean that shirts have as many wrinkles as I do.
Gardening? I am allowed the heavy stuff, my ‘making it look pretty’ skills were taught to me by a hippopotamus.
    Yet I am the Boss.
I know this ‘cos she allows me say it.

Joking apart, the first time we’ve been invited to the farm next door, about 20 guess, we arrived the first. We are told to “do sit down”. So we did, except that I’ve been told, no, not on this side, the men sitting this side and the women siting on the other, so we can talk what matters for us, women. Ok, I did what I was told, except I had a struggle to translate what was said to Bill. It was the first time of my life I saw that. No offence, that’s the way they do it.

It is different when we are just 6 or 8 people, but now we know it, we both sit together about spot on in the middle of the table, so we are together, and each one on the right side !

This is nothing to be with being macho, we know who is the boss in the farm, and it’s not “he” !

We agreed no ironing chez nous, we shop together, it’s a run out for t’ old feller, (and we enjoy bargain hunting), an’ t’ old lad does t’ fixin’ an hooverin’ while ‘erself is out makin’ a copper at t’ offiss.

Mind, Herself can be quite handy when it comes to filling in forms an’ wot not ere!

    I haven’t a clue

She made an Excellent ‘Bricoleuse’, when we were renovating this place
