B has just seen on CPAM website, what my 8 days in Hospital cost, it was €7960, and doesn’t think that includes the Surgery.

Thank goodness I have a C’ Vitale and Mutuelle

I know what you mean Bill, My Mum was rushed in as an emergency in 2012 , 21 days she was in with operations, intensive care for 2 nights etc Bill was nearly 20000.00 Euros glad we didn’t have to pay .

Husband rushed in with extremely high blood pressure 5 days later home nearly 5000.00  again as yourself CPAM and Mutuelle   And the care was outstanding .     Think if Mum had been in the UK at the age of 90 they wouldn’t have done what they did . She is back in the UK now in a residential home she is now 96  and quite often says that the hospital in France was better than where she is

As in doctors and dentists all charges should be visibly displayed, eye watering  amounts .My husband was in ICU that was 1000€ a day 5 years ago.

The cost of the room in hospital is displayed on the inside of the door or on a notice board.

It is very expensive. Never had a hospital bill as always had cover /Carte Vitale et Mutuelle and now we are both 100% for most things.
