Cupcake, read the link that Jazzy has posted, it’s not definite yet, could take along time if MasterCard keep challenging this, I wouldn’t hold my breath!

If you want to claim your three hundred quid simply write all the credit card details, pin number, three digit security number etc on the back of a postcard, mail it to 3 Mokabango street, Lagos, Nigeria. I’ve mailed all my info, should get me £300 in a week or so apparently.

I’ll get more than you, Futureman, I replied to an email recently (coincidentally also from Mokabango Street in Lagos, how bizarre!) proposing to share with me the profits of the sale of a silver mine. Don’t know how they chose me, but I’m stockpiling the glee to rub my hands with.

I thought you were a Guernsey Girl, Cupcake, not sure if living in Guernsey counts as living in the UK.

CC according to a chap who has been watching the football with me tonight and is Jersey born and bred, he says that the Channel islands are not part of the UK but are British Crown dependencies but neither are part of the United Kingdom.

Dont shoot the messenger, that is what a Jersey born and bred man has just told us….

Poles apart or not, both, and the rest of the Channel Islands are British Crown dependencies and are not part of the UK.

The paperwork we have on MasterCard list the conditions for a UK  card, it states that the UK is defined as Great Britain, Northern Ireland, the Channel Islands and the Isle of man. If MasterCard lose this battle and have to pay out, Channel Islanders could be eligible under MasterCard’s T&C’s.

Stinky, I think what you said in your first post is correct, it’s just MasterCard’s rules that group the channel Islands all under the same roof as the UK, that said the rules may have been different between 1992 and 2008.

Guernsey is in the UK when it suits them.

I am British so am not English and never admit to being so.

I am Spartacus….oops that’s wrong, I meant I am European, I think where I was born, apart from being a freak of nature, has now disgraced itself forever in my lifetime but funny enough, I still love going back to the UK, unlike I guess, many who don’t. ;-)

    certainly now European …..

always proud of being British, even though I hate the idea of Brexit.

Still hoping all changes and they stay,I actually can’t believe they have all buggered off on holiday.

    sorry…I digressed.

    If I remember correctly:

Great Britain is England, Scotland & Wales

The United Kingdom is England, Scotland, Wales & Northern Ireland

The British Isles are all of the above plus Southern Ireland and all the other islands such as The Isle of Man, Channel Islands, Isles of Scilly etc

Did you remember it correctly Lippy or did you let Google be your friend like I did? Update on me £300 quid, nice chap in Lagos said if I send him five grand he can get back all the money I never paid in PPI on my mortgage. I’ve sent the five grand, should get me cash in a couple of weeks he said along with me £300.

As far as I can remember me and Mastercard have never been bedfellows so no hope for me getting any dosh, unless I make friends with the awfully nice Nigerian gentleman that Futureman and VK are acquainted with, but he hasn’t been in touch, you win some, you lose some
