Getting rid of Phonexpat and wanting to change to the Orange package where you can phone up and cancel your internet etc whilst you are out of Brittany. You then phone up again to reinstate it. I’m beggared if I can find any info on their site so any suggestions more than welcome as to where the info is hidden!

Didn’t bother with AI this time because my last posting about Phonexpat just brought out the wiseacres, know alls and trolls!

There’s a page for Ligne résidence secondaire in the Boutique, though whether you can have a Livebox service as well isn’t clear.

I look after a gite that always used this service to reinstate a livebox when needed. This year when reinstating a new contract was delivered and it was all a bit of a pain. A neighbour with a holiday cottage had the same experience and asked at Orange (after the usual queue). They were told that competition rules prevented Orange from offering this service although they were trying to continue it with this new contract, “new customer” ruse. If this really is the case then switching on and off more than once a year will prove very trying. Our neighbour with the holiday cottage has opted for a permanent contract.

We have an Orange Ligne Résidence Secondaire contract at our cottage and regularly switch our line on and off,  this can easily be done in your online account, no telephone calls required.  I also have a livebox.  In fact I have just suspended the line after our recent visit.  Hope this helps.

We did this last year and had to return the livebox and collect a new one when we got the phone and internet turned on again.
