I think this is uplifting news, but I suppose it depends on your personal viewpoint. I certainly found it a very interesting read. Has anyone else seen this?

I don’t know, but suspect Monsieur Macron will be committing a serious offence by interfering with another countries politics in such an overt manner.

I don’t think Macron’s going to get involved personally, but the problem Renew will have is highlighted in the article: they don’t have a charismatic leader.

    Any suggestions?

No suggestions yet, but that’s the point of the party. It is new, it’s not been officially launched yet. They are looking for people so far not involved in politics. Some decent policies are a good start as are their visions and core ideas.

Moreover a party openly in favour of a second referendum for Brexit might help them along the way. I may be old, but I am trying to avoid becoming cynical with age. Ever the optimist. It’s about time there was a party for non extremist thinkers.

What party currently has a charismatic leader anyway?

I would imagine Macron is all for a second referendum if it increases the chances of the UK to keep injecting in to the EU coffers.

I don’t think that is his intention tbh. I hear it all the time on Facebook but there are 26 others with a say and neither Germany nor France can do anything without their input. I personally believe the EU will live on quite comfortably without the UK.
e.g Once we earned 5x and now 4x and so cut our cloth to suit.
