I’ve not yet met a welshman who has been offended by it, neither a Paddy or a Jock come to think of it.

I would have thought that most Paddys or Jocks would be offended by being called a Taffy, Pete.

    Well yes.

I know most french people refer to english speakers as ‘anglais’ which doesn’t go down too well with many Scots, Welsh and Irish I know. Maybe you have been called ‘anglais’ ?

I don’t have a problem with it as I’m dual nationality. I was only gently taking the mickey out of the phrasing of your post, that’s all.

What are the odds now that this match is going to be the largest winning margin by England played at home against France?

BTW, if you were wondering, the largest prior biggest winning margin played at home was on Jan 28th 1911 when they (Eng) won by a winning margin of 37 points.

the  paddies had their worst game of the tournament to let  the taffs in who rode their luck and had the rub of the green, the sweaties were played off the park in the first half only to play out of their skin in the second to almost beat an England side that had taken their foot of the gas because they’d  foolishly thought they’d won it in 35 minutes.

    great to watch though  :good:

its what sport is all about  :good:

Can’t really say as I have heard any Scot, Irish or Welsh use a perjorative term to describe the English. Well, apart from Sassenach, but I have read today somewhere, that that is not  perjorative in the true sense.
