Just  opened the emails on my tablet really worried as the last one in opens automatically and it was all in black with white writing in French and a skull at each corner  I have deleted but really worried that my tablet has been infected.

Sounds odd, Jean, I would be tempted to a total reset on your tablet.

Everything seems to be working OK.

Spoke to our computer Engineer and he says it is a scam E mail and if it comes again just delete it but he will come and check everything over for our peace of mind.

I have had several of these lately, it is a scam demanding money or they will infect your computer. I deleted them without clicking on any of the links then go to your “deleted” folder and delete from there as well. I have updated my virus protection to include ransomware. I received the first one of these a couple of weeks ago and it gave me 48 hours to respond. I deleted it and nothing has happened so far.

In a similar vein, yesterday I had a phone call supposedly from my internet provider Orange. Suspicious when he confused my christian name for my surname. Apparently they were closing down the area where I live because it was under “cyber attack”! He went on to say that he could see numerous unwanted downloads on my computer and viruses everywhere. Told him I was an IT expert (white lie) and hung up on him. Wonder why he didn’t phone back?

Just received a scam email that looked officially from “FNAC” confirming my order for a laptop €980 odd to be delivered to an address in Marseilles. When one sees such a blatent theft, one fumes. However,  my name and address were given on the facture, I wonder how they get these details. I looked closely at the mail which had a button to cancel this order. Being me, trusting nothing, I checked my bank and there was no payment, so I’m guessing the quick tempered would click on the cancel button and get stung, either with a virus, or some questionair asking for bank details and codes. Such a shame that these shameless bastards can be so clever and waste their talents on thievery.
