Manchester United have sacked Jose Mourinho for the totally awful start to their season! Never been impressed with him, he seems to get jobs at successful teams and gradually over a season or so runs them down.

    Finally sacked.

Twenty two men, or women, chasing a pigs bladder around a field; what is there to manage?

Well I think some of the players on thousands a week , need to take some responsibility !  That’s  what they have to do , score goals!  Some talk of it being an engineered effort from the players dressing room?  Allegedly ! Plus when you put their salaries next to some of the NHS workers , it’s  crazy!  ⚽️⚽️

So is it ok for pop stars, TV stars or film stars to earn ridiculous amounts of money and not be criticised ?

Loads of pro footballers give a lot back to charity (ies)

Wayne Rooney for example, through his foundation supports not so well off kids and is a big supporter of the NSPCC, Alder Hay charity and the Claire House Childrens Hospice to name just a few.

Pj I,m sure a lot of filmstarsetc ….support charities too.

    maybe they do it quietly.

I do find the pay checks of young footballers sometimes quite obscene…they have no idea how to live with those huge pay checks and are often targeted by drugs….alcohol…prostitution …even Wayne Rooney !

It’s unfair to single out footballers pp.

A film star earning $20 million for appearing in a film is equally as obscene to me as a footballer earning the same amount. I’m sure as many film stars and / or tv personalities are just as susceptible to drug taking in fact, Hollywood is notorious for it !

I’m sure no one criticised Terry Wogan for example for taking home £10 million or whatever per annum ? He also worked tirelessly for charities by the way.

Pete the posting was football related . But I ageee the money for example the BBC  pay to certain people is also crazy,  especially the amount we pay in licence money. I have no knowledge of film stars pay . I have not been to see a film at the cinema in over 25 years, so a bit out of touch . Finally , I’m sure a good few do contribute to various charities or causes.  What is ironic is Mr BV was able to get a free tv licence, as he was over 75, but now it’s just me, I have to pay the full whack again, because I’m not (over 75!)  but now on a much reduced income!  :negative:

    Sounds crazy bv !

Any footie related post brings out the usual ‘overpaid footballer’ rants and I can see why but good luck to anyone who can wangle obscene money out of their employer. It just seems a bit OTT  when it appears ok for other entertainment sectors where even more obscene money can be earned is conveniently ignored.

Good luck to José, he can receive all the money in the world but deep down he knows he has failed miserably and that he will live not to mentioned his tarnished professional reputation.

I love watching the actual machines in all their glory, the engineering bits and bobs are amazing but I can honestly say actually riding a motorbike is about the last thing I would wish to do. I’m sad to say I was built for comfort and not speed !

Regarding José and his pay-off. The sums quoted amount to about 1% of the annual turnover at Man Utd so  I don’t think the club is too worried about it !

Manchester United has announced former striker Ole Gunnar Solskjaer as interim boss. The Norwegian replaces Jose Mourinho on ‘loan’ from Molde until May. Mourinho was sacked on Tuesday after a dreadful start to the current campaign. He settled a £500k bill at the Lowry Hotel before returning to his family in London.

Probably the worst ever Man U manager apart from the guy he succeeded. The caretaker choice is good but the real target for Man U has to be Mopo who will be tempted away from the mighty Spurs after the present season has finished. He has ths uncanny knack of making players of all levels better. I can already hear the cash register churning away in the head of Daniel Levy !
