we’re heading down to the Pyrenees   soon, again with a very loose plan of where to go,  and just looking at where our first stop will be and thought we’ve never been to Toulouse so might head that way.

anyone have any recommendations as to whats there nearby?

    Tia  :good:

Toulouse is ok to visit as is Montauban town centre with it’s bastide royale 40 minutes before on the motorway.

Albi, just to the east of Toulouse with easy access is a lovely town and worth a visit. Just before that are some nice towns like Rabastens and Lisle sur Tarn. Gaillac is Ok with its vineyards to the north and east.

To the west of Toulouse Condom and Auch are nice towns (with the muskateer connectons) and Agen is ok as is Villeneuve sur Lot.

Pop in for a cuppa if you are near Albi.

Carcassone an hour’s drive-well worth it.

My favourite place-Cordes-sur-ciel-best seen rising up through a misty morning.

Yep, Carcassonne of course and Cordes (close to Albi) is brilliant. Justnorth of Cordes is St Antonin de Noble Val which is worth a visit too.

…………and Moissac-West of Montauban. Great Abbey with beautiful cloisters. Also indoor food market-fantastic cheese selection last time I was there. Also a lovely gallery just near the abbey-usually have raku items. ‘Galerie Graal’-big sculpture figures in front.

Hi all, currently in Andorra having had a quick stop in Bergerac on the way down having had A cycle around Toulouse followed by lunch in the place de capitol, staying in the Pyrenees for a bit cycling and hiking where we can (snow permitting) then tomorrow off to explore the Pyrenees further and hopefully get to ride on the train  d’artouste (highest railway in Europe)

then not sure where we’re heading

    decisions decisions 😀

Cirque de Gavarnie ? Lourdes, which was not my taste with all the souvenirs boutique etc, but maybe a catholic pilgrimage place to see just for curiosity ?
