Thought I’d share some news with you that made me very happy. :rose:

I was inspired to try making a remedy for heart problems (and strokes), which is simply cayenne pepper and chillies infused in alcohol for some weeks. (Google ‘how to stop a heart attack in a minute’ for the recipe). I gave some to my old dad, who had a heart attack some years ago, and he used some on Sunday when he was feeling poorly. Well it works, and apparently it was very effective and quick!

    :yahoo:

Have also mentioned before that we give turmeric to our ageing dog for his arthritis, and after now 11 months since he went off his legs, he is still as happy as can be and physically so much better. Do p.m. me if you want the recipe…. it is just turmeric with pepper and oil, which is required for your body to absorb it, and water.

Anybody else got any interesting suggestions? :mail:

Lots of people swear by turmeric paste for their dogs enid, there is a turmeric group on facebook I am a member of. Tried it myself for a while for joint problems but didn’t notice any improvements but perhaps didn’t take it for long enough. It has anti cancer properties too I believe.

Aw Bill I can understand your fears.  You should have a lot less pain afterwards.  Good luck. X

I take Bitter Apricot Kernels to prevent cancer returning and I swear by them. I have taken a lot of their nasty drugs…….they made me ill!  No more.

@jackie I think you have to take quite a large amount, my Mum for a while was taking a Curcumin supplement and it definitely helped her, she took it for about 3 months before starting to really notice the change. I think that is the active part that does the most good. Have you tried it mixed with black pepper as @enid mentions? That seems to activate it.

@Liz so good you take the apricot kernels, I persuaded my friend in the UK to take them, she has just had radiotherapy and wants to make sure cancer does not return. She moans about the taste but has been grinding them up and taking them in yoghurt and honey and that seems to work for her.

One of my dogs has had a dodgy tummy this week so he has been stuffed full of live yoghurt and a tiny bit of Citricidal and is well on the mend now. I have been taking Citricidal for a couple of days to fight off a bug, it seems to be working. Tastes revolting though!

Witchy poo – I used to make up a batch of ‘golden paste’ consisting of organic turmeric powder, coconut oil and black pepper and stored in a jar for a week or so. Used to have a heaped teaspoon in some hot chocolate but must admit didn’t much like the taste.  :negative:

Perhaps should try again and take more, sort of got out of the habit of it, a bit like juicing which we were mad keen on for about 2 months!!  :-)

Good idea about giving live yoghurt to dogs with tummy upsets, must try that as one of ours is prone to them, he seems to have a bit of a sensitive tum bless him…..

Don’t you have to be careful about Bitter Apricot Kernels because of the body turning them to cyanide? (A bit like apple pips) Not suggesting they’re not safe to take, just that shouldn’t anyone thinking of doing so be aware of having to stick strictly to amounts etc?

Yes @barjan sorry I did not think about that as I was just replying to Liz without further thought.

There is some information in this article about the cyanide content and how it works against cancer cells if anyone is interested in finding out more, there is lots of information on the internet and there are some clinics in the UK that specialise in this sort of treatment – Natural News Article
My friend is taking 10 kernels a day as the recommended preventative dose and did discuss this with her consultant prior to taking them.

Dear Witchy, I’m sorry I didn’t mean to scare monger, I’m sure the dosage is made plain to anyone taking them and that it’s perfectly safe if they stick to what is advised, I just thought it best to mention it just in case they were popped without paying attention to the guidelines.

Blue you would have to eat an awful lot of apple pips to poison yourself, I was just pointing out the similarity of the make up –  I really didn’t mean to scare anyone.

No it’s ok Fruitcake! I was just surprised, just how much stuff has cyanide in it! Did you know that burning laurel leaves apparently has the same properties, I learnt this after burning a lot in the garden!  Yikes!  :yahoo:

No need to be sorry Fruity, you are completely correct, it is good to have the information, I just assume people will find it but assuming is sometimes not a wise thing to do!!

I was told that too Blue after burning a whole load….. Oh well, am still here :yahoo:

Re Cyanide in laurel. YES, there is some, NO it is not in harmful enough quantities. Been burning laurel, leaves in the garden and wood in the burner, for years now. Laurel is a lovely dense wood when you get big enough logs of it.

Confirmed by OH,  a forester with a lifetimes worth of study and degreees behind him.

Yes – do take care when taking Bitter Almond kernels.
They do, as was mentioned previously contain cyanide in much greater quantities than apple pips. The equivalent of a ground teaspoonful or 5 kernels at a time is safe for the body to absorb.  You can grind the up and take them with honey or just sprinkled on a dessert.
I actually like the flavour. I take just that as a maintenance dose.

The packs actually given directions for the quantity to be taken daily.
1 apricot kernel for every 10 pounds of body weight. So if you weigh 150 pounds, then you would consume 15 per day, spread out throughout the day.

So many herbs and spices have beneficial results with many conditions….but do check dosages.  BigPharma makes a lot of money at our expense and some of the old natural treatments actually work at little cost.
