Watched Southampton play Derby tonight on TV. This VAR spoilt it for me by disallowing a valid goal and generally slowing the whole game. To me the joys of watching football are the discussions/arguments about the game afterwards. This whole use of  technology for technologies sake is spoiling a grand game.

Morning L, if you’re talking about the Craig Bryson goal then VAR got it right, Waghorn was offside in the build-up. The game isn’t spoiled for me with delays, I just want to see the correct decisions.

I’m a big fan of VAR as I believe it’s n everyones interest to get the correct decisions even if VAR has an occasional wobble. The World Cup last year proved how good the system is.

Var has been brilliant for both codes of rugby, cricket as well as sports like snooker (re setting the balls after a ‘miss’ etc). Cycling and horse racing among others have been using it for years.
