Plenty of showers here too, beautiful colors between the green, the wet earth and the cloudy sky. I noticed this “dusty” sky has cleaned up, and we can now see the sharpness of the fluffy clouds again. The cherry on the cake was a beautiful rainbow (I’ve posted it in Photos). I bet your lambs are happy.

Storm Hannah is arriving from the West, strong winds late Friday and throughout Saturday for us in the West of the UK, don’t know if Brittany will get it.

Windy and showers and a big drop in temperature for us. The forecast looks a bit better next week getting better as the week goes on – hopefully that comes to pass to be of benefit to our dog sitters! But doesn’t the garden look lovely and sparkling now?! I do love it when it rains after a dry spell, colours look vibrant and it looks as though Mother nature has had her duster out giving everything a good polish!

Looking at the bright side, the washing machine is drying quick, and we don’t smell musty ! We are living in a natural windy place, a lot of old windmill around. It’s getting more worrying, when the slates are flying, which happens sometimes.

Was a good drying day right enough, the wind’s dropped today but the temperature is still a bit low, a good time for the pump on our heating boiler to pack up! Ah well, we have the log burner and a good supply of jumpers!

Babeth, it went a couple of days ago, water leak from it tripped the switch, we knew it was going to eventually be changed but were hanging on as long as we could! Our electrician came out and is trying to get us one that is of the old style to save us some pennies (new style ones are all digital and more expensive) bless him he’s a good lad, he has promised me that, whatever, he will get it done before we go away so that the sitters have heat!!

What a total croc of  **** it is supposed to be May but it is more like March. I can’t remember ever needing heating on at this time of year

My French friends keep saying to me meteo Anglaise but I don’t remember it being so cold and miserable in the south of England at this time of year or have I got my rose tinted glasses on again  :-)

Wish this weather would settle down no TV reception in this area because of the wind and rain, not just us but our friends as well getting fed up with it.

Could be worst tonight, 90 km/h between 8pm and 2am (S-E Morbihan), but the forecast is better for next week.

Could be a lot worse , I hear they have problems with TV reception in Mozambique too!

Rain all day here , after two nights of frost , next week above 20 degrees . We caught a swarm of bees on Monday , they were lucky to have a nice dry home before the rain . :-)

Time flies , half way through May already . The sunny period has finished , now we have a few days  of lovely rain . It’s strange how we now have a lot of wind when it is warm , but this morning is beautiful soft and green . We still have our wood burner on , first time ever, normally we switch to electric at the end of March . We now have three hives full of bees , we were able to catch the second swarm last week. Sowing seed in the rain this weekend . :-)

My goodness , what a beautiful morning ! The Sun is shining ,the air is crisp and clean . It makes you feel good to be alive and in the countryside . The frogs were singing all night , an owl called to its mate across the valley and a fox was out in the moonlight looking for a meal .

Heavy thunderstorm last night , then rain all night . You must have got the rain dance right this time Fruitcake , butts full again ?

The Federation de peche electronically fished 100 meters of the stream running through our property because we made a demand to declare it  a Reserve de Peche .

We had a nice shower yesterday Deboer so some water in the butts but certainly nowhere near full yet, we live in hope! (Will have to practice my dance moves a bit more!) The temperature has dropped so it might mean we have more to come.

The temperature has dropped by nearly 20 degrees here Fruitcake . It makes it very difficult for the veg in the garden , they can’t cope with the vast temperature ranges in such a short period of time .

Yes, much chillier, poor plants don’t know where they are, our tomatoes don’t look very happy at all! The runner beans have now started to climb but they didn’t like the cold temperatures when we put them in! I think the vegetable plot is going to be very hit and miss and it will be the survival of the fittest that brings results! (Still no rain here!)

Thunder and ice in one hour, plus torrential rain, I couldn’t believe the hailstorm or the fact I’ve had to put the heating back on.
