Because of problems with Firefox I changed to Chrome and all is good EXCEPT each time that I log in to UIB now I have to put all the details in, even though I had ticked the box remember me – why is that? It didn’t happen with Firefox. I’m probably being a numpty!

“each time that I log in to UIB now I have to put all the details in” It’s what I have to do after I’ve logged out in order to log in again, I thought it was normal. Not quite sure what ‘Remember me’ does. What was the difference with Firefox?

PJ – No, I make sure he remembers!

VK With Firefox, because I clicked the box “remember me” when I logged in the first time, each time I logged in after as soon as I clicked on Log In, the box would come up with the details already done, now they don’t.

Google Chrome asks you if you want it to save the log in details, tick yes and the details are saved and automatically fed in by google when you go to log in, Firefox does the same thing. Don’t let google save passwords to your bank or something like PayPal.

Only in so far as suggesting where you might fix it, the terms aren’t the same. Try going to Settings (three dots top right), then at the bottom of that page advanced settings, then Manage passwords and forms and turn on, so they’re blue, the two buttons at the top, if they’re actually grey.

Only if the option’s turned on in Advanced settings, Bo, though it’s probably activated by default.

It usually is activated by default because google want to nab as much of your info as they possibly can, they monitor your surfing habits and blast you with interesting advertising, which is obviously why the EU have hit them with a humongous fine.

Okay, log out of Facebook and see if your Facebook name and password are put in the box automatically when you go to log in again. Did you not get a message with Chrome when you logged into UIB offering to remember the password?

    Continuing saga:-

I am always automatically logged into FB and have now tried a couple of other sites, was asked if I want Chrome to save I said yes and it did – I am not asked if I want Chrome to save my log in detail for UIB, I do ask the site to remember me – it never does.
