Thanks commandomum. After it was pulled out with a funny scrunching noise a quick anti tetanus jab and all was hunky dory.

Physical pain..giving birth and having a ruptured  ectopic pregnancy.Losing my Parents was painful, but as both were elderly and ready to go,I was less shattered about it than I thought I would be.Having my dog put to sleep was the very worst. It was almost a physical agony. It was a few years ago,but it still brings tears now.

With you there Britchick I held our cat  whilst she was given a lethal injection by the vet. Went home and cried!

Quinsy when I was about 18 years old. I had suffered from bad throats all my life but this was on another scale. Doctors refused to remove my tonsils when I was young but they were eventually removed when I was 30.

Memories of physical pain do stay with you but remain just memories, however, memories of angst and emotional pain not only stay but never stop hurting, be it a family loss and worrying times, or the loss of a beloved pet. I am still unable to speak of my Dad’s last months, nor the loss of each of our dogs without tears in my eyes and some people may find it bizarre that I liken the two, they are different forms of heartache and pain but none the less each has its own pain.
